FORMS AND POLICIES

Throughout your time at the Brisbane Campus you may need to refer to our academic policies and procedures or access a number of forms.  For your convenience we have supplied these online so you can read and print them when needed. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, you can contact Customer Services.

Withdrawing or Deferring


To withdraw from your FEE HELP or VET FEE HELP enabled course before your census date you will need to send us a completed Application of Withdrawal form. This form can be used to withdraw from a subject or an entire course.

To defer your FEE HELP or VET FEE HELP enabled course before your census date you will need to send us a completed Application for Deferral form.

If you have passed your census date or your course is not FEE HELP or VET FEE HELP enabled and you wish to withdraw or defer please contact Student Services to discuss your options.


Course Credit


To apply for course credit you will need to send us a completed Application for Course Credit form along with certified copies of transcripts and subject outlines for any subjects relevant to your application.

An applicant may apply for credit before enrolling in a course. Currently enrolled students may also apply for credit at any stage during their enrolment, but applications must be received by the end of week two to take effect in that study period.


Assessment or Examination Extension


If you have been affected by unexpected or extenuating circumstances and has yet to submit your assessment, you may be eligible for an extension.

Your Learning Facilitator (Lecturer) decides on extension applications. Extensions will provide a reasonable time, given the nature of the circumstances, for the student to complete the task without giving the student an unfair advantage over other students. A reasonable time will not extend beyond 10 working days except in exceptional circumstances. Applications requiring more than 10 working days’ extension will be referred to the Program Director for a decision.

Extension applications must be submitted at least one (1) working day prior to the assessment due date, unless the evidence of unexpected or extenuating circumstances provided indicates this would not have been possible

To apply for an extension or defer an assessment you will need to send us a completed Application for Assessment Special Consideration form.


Special Circumstances


If you are in a Fee HELP or VET Fee HELP course and have had a serious illness or other extenuating circumstances that has affected your study after the census date you may be able to have your fees refunded or re-credited through a Special Circumstances application.

You need to demonstrate that the circumstances were beyond your control; did not make their full impact on you until on or after the census date; and were such that they made it impracticable for you to complete the requirements for the subject.

To apply you will need to send us the Application Special Circumstances Refund (post census) Form along with supporting documentation. You should contact Student Services to discuss your situation before lodging this application.


Academic Transcript Request


To obtain a copy of your Academic Transcript you will need to send us a completed Certification Form along with a proof of your identity eg. Drivers Licence or Passport. The fee for Academic Transcripts is $15.
