Brisbane Hub: Your SRC

SRC

Interested in becoming a Student Representative Council (SRC) Member?

We're looking for enthusiastic students who can unite to represent the student voice, build community and influence the decision making of management.

Joining the SRC would give you an opportunity to build your network, learn new skills and put your ideas into action to make Brisbane campus an awesome place to study.

What’s in it for me?

  • Making new friends and networking throughout campus and the Laureate network
  • Learning how to work in teams and developing your organisational skills
  • Attending SRC development workshops that equip you to be the best SRC you can be
  • Sharing your skills and putting your awesome ideas into action
  • Representing the student voice by providing feedback to management
  • Playing an active role in ensuring that Brisbane campus is a great place to be
  • Formal recognition of your contribution to the campus and Laureate community

What’s the time commitment?

You can choose how much you contribute to the SRC, but as a minimum members are expected to attend weekly or fortnightly meetings. Members are also invited to attend Orientation Days and Management Meetings once every trimester and there will be an induction for new SRC members when they come on board as well as the occasional training workshop.

Do I have to study on campus?

A large percentage of our students study online and part-time, and the SRC would love these students to be a part of the team that our actions and decisions are representative of the student body. Our meetings are organised according to member availability and you can always attend via Skype or phone making it super flexible and easy for you to be involved.

How do I apply?

To express your interest fill out the 'SRC Expression of Interest' form here. We'll get in touch with you soon and invite you to our upcoming SRC induction day.

The 3 pillars of the SRC

Community

We are committed to creating a welcoming Campus environment that respects and celebrates diversity and inclusivity. We run a variety of events and workshops that create opportunities to network and build relationships with fellow students and have some fun!

Advocacy

We offer meaningful support to any student facing difficulty during the course of their study. We refer issues affecting students to the relevant campus team member in a timely and constructive manner when appropriate. We aim to deal with feedback in a positive manner that shows both respect for the Campus and empathy for the student involved.

Decision Making

We are invited to Campus management meetings each trimester and are consulted on key decisions that impact the student experience. We work collaboratively with the Campus management team and staff to achieve outcomes that help make Campus a better place for all.
