Student Forum

We want to hear what you have to say!

Student forums are held each trimester to make sure that students are involved in things that are happening on campus.

This will include updates from staff but also feedback from you on a range of issues from academic and course questions, to facilities.

We want this space to be productive and helpful for everyone. To keep the meeting manageable and constructive, there are limited spaces available, so get in quick.

Trimester 1 2017

When? Thursday 30th March: 10am to 12pm
Where? Bld 21 Boardroom

Please note: a minimum of 7 students are needed for the forum to run. Register to attend!

Can't attend? Provide detailed feedback here - include your name so we can contact you with further questions.

Changes to assessment policy

Changes to assessment extension process

There is a new streamlined process when applying for assessment extensions.

Here's how it works:

  1. Complete the application form (now called Application for Assessment Special Consideration) and attach your supporting documentation.
  2. Give the application to your learning facilitator/lecturer. In some cases applications may still need to go to your program director; for example, if your situation is complicated or you require more than 10 working days extension.
  3. The learning facilitator will evaluate your application, keep your original, and return a copy to you, with details of the application outcome.
  4. A copy of your application will also be kept on your student file.

Please check the Assessment Policy for more details.

Success Coaches Advice

Tackling your first assignment?

Follow these four steps to assignment success

1. Focus on your strengths

Everyone has their own unique talents and learning styles. Find out what you are best at and bring this to your assignments.

2. Set goals

Look over your project brief and deliverables and ask yourself: what tasks will have the biggest impact on reaching my assignment goals? Write down your list of goals and tasks and prioritise with a clear timeframe.‚Äč

3. Take breaks
When you start to feel assignment-fatigue, it's time to take a break.
  • Get some fresh air
  • Exercise
  • Concentrate on what you love most about the assignment
  • Take time to re-focus and re-energise

4. Don’t give up
As Adam Grant says, “you need a lot of bad ideas to come up with a good one”.
