IT Support

Throughout your studies you may find you need IT assistance. IT services are able to assist you with basic network access such as connecting to Wi-Fi or how to use printing facilities.

IT is unable to assist with hardware or software related issues; this is the responsibility of students to resolve.

It Info

It is expected that all students have access to a computer which must also have a set of standard software packages and Internet connectivity.

You will need a computer for assessments, using the library catalogue, online resources, accessing the learning portal and your student portal.

If you don't have a computer - think about how you'll get access to one for your study.

If you are going to buy a computer and need guidance, make sure you get some expert advice about how to satisfy your needs as a student.

As well as a computer you will need to have computer skills. Take this Self-assessing quiz yourself. Not confident? Try these online tutorials: - MS Office Suite Tutorials and Basic Computer Tutorials Still uncertain? You may want to enrol in a course at your local community college or council, before starting your study.

We recommend that you use the Google Chrome web browser when using the Learning Portal. The Learning Portal is your website you will use to access course material, submit assessments and discuss course content in online forums. Download Google Chrome Now.

To help with your studies, we provide free WiFi at the Melbourne Campus so you can also access the Internet on your own devices.

Your Student Email address is the main way that the college will communicate important information and events with you during your studies, so please ensure that you access your email.

You can sign into your student email account via gmail or the Student Portal. If you have an existing gmail account, you will need to select "Add Account" to sign in to your student email account.

Your new email address will be in the format:

CATC: Firstname.Surname@students.catc.edu.au
Billy Blue: Firstname.Surname@students.billyblue.edu.au

Temporary password: Melbourne1

You will be required to change your password on your first sign in and it may be a good idea to change this to the same password that you use to log in to the Student Portal.

If you are unsure what your email address is due to multiple names on your enrolment, please contact Student Services on 595@think.edu.au and we will advise you what your email address will be.
