Your education is important to us, which is why we provide a number of learning support services to help you with your studies.

Learning Support

Did you know that all students have access to Academic Skills Support?

If you need help with assignment writing, referencing, time management, or any other academic-related aspect of your studies, we can help! Our mission is to help you become successful, independent learners. The workshops are not remedial; they are not for students who can’t but for those who want to increase the quality of their education. The workshops are free to all students.

How do I access Academic Skills support?

Learning at a Higher Education institution is about discovering new knowledge through reading and research, so knowing how to navigate your way around the library is essential.

You can access the library via the left side menu here on the Melbourne Online Student Hub. Through the library you can access a comprehensive collection of full-text articles and eBooks 24/7.

To make studying and researching easier, the library provides regular training sessions as well as guides and library skills advice on the library website.

Library Tutorials

If you would like a private appointment please contact your Library and Learning Skills Adviser Belinda.

Blackboard is your Learning Portal. Through Blackboard you can access all of your course information including subject outlines, readings and online assessment submissions. To login to Blackboard simply click the ‘Learning Portal’ link on the left side menu here on the Melbourne Student Hub.

One of the first classes you are enrolled in is called Essential Learning Skills - this class is not graded and is a useful introduction to online learning and the academic skills.

Learning with Technology is another useful space that will help you learn how to navigate Blackboard. You can find the link on your Blackboard home page under the 'My Organisations' heading.
