Melbourne Service Hub: Getting Oriented

Getting started content page

Orientation is all about the community, tools and resources you'll need to succeed. Whether you study online or on-campus, this week is an important rite of passage for new students. Don't miss out.

Orientation is not to be missed!

Orientation is a great opportunity to:

  • Meet your academic and support communities
  • Learn about student tools (like Blackboard and the Student Portal)
  • Get to know your classmates
  • Have some fun!

We know that students who attend Orientation are far more likely to succeed in their studies.
Plus, you’ll know exactly where to go and what to do on Day 1.

Join our:
New student community in Blackboard

Our comprehensive New Student Community will help you further understand your online learning environment.

It is open to all new students but is especially useful for those who study remotely. You'll learn about:

  • creating a study space at home (or at the office, or at a friend's house!)
  • your IT requirements
  • Library and learning resources
  • the skills you already have (and how they'll help you to succeed)
  • support services just for you
  • plus more

And, you'll meet lots of other students in the online forum who are studying in your faculty.
