Final assessments

Muhammad Ali said, "I hated every minute of training but I said,
'Don’t quit, suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.”

1. Shake it up!

Don’t get stuck in your same old study routine, as this is where motivation drops. Study with friends, study at different times and study in different places. Keeping your surroundings and your mind fresh helps to build motivation and can create inspiration in the most unusual of places.

2. Get distracted - but own it

Distractions happen. Family phone calls, Facebook messages or one of a million other things happen. Don't freak out – own it. Tell yourself "OK, its time for a break – I’m going to take 15 minutes to do this then get back into it".

3. Eat smart = study smart

Personally, I find there are few things worse than studying on an empty stomach. To keep you motivated and charging make sure you are stocked up on good food to give you the energy. No, I don’t want to sound like your mum, but yes a piece of fruit will serve you better than a packet of lollies :)

4. Play to your strengths

Everyone learns differently, so do what works for you. Maybe you’re great at writing pages and pages of notes, maybe you like to illustrate your ideas, maybe you sort information into categories and then write a report – however, you learn, you know how you learn best, so do what you are best at. As Dr Seuss says, "be yourself, everyone else is taken”.

5. Keep your eye on the goal

Everyone has a dream, a passion or a goal – a purpose for their degree. Maybe you want to open your own business or become the next big designer. Perhaps you want to operate your own clinic or hotel. Whatever your dream, let it always be your driving force.

Do this, do this, do this!

With re-enrolment just around the corner (Week 10), it's time to make sure that your current enrolment is on track and you're up to date with your assessments.

Take these steps:

  • Check that subjects in your Student and Learning Portals match!
  • If they don't, contact us now
  • If you are behind in your assessments, talk to your lecturer

If you don't submit assessments or withdraw from the subjects you're not participating in, you'll end up with an academic fail grade which impacts on your T3 re-enrolment.

Don't worry, we're here to help. Let us show you what your options are.
