Your results

You will receive a final result for each of your subjects at the end of the study period. These are generally released two weeks after the study period finishes. You can find out when your results will be available on the Key Dates page.

Results release is dependent on final assessment/log book or hours submission including where an extension has been provided for your relevant subject.

Please note: individual assessment results will be published on your Online Learning Platform, except for final assessments or exam results.

Final Grades

Access your final results in your Student Portal . If you have outstanding fees you may not be able to access your subject results and academic transcript.

Academic progression

The Academic Progression Committee assesses academic progression based on your final results achieved in subjects studied in each study period. You will be deemed as achieving satisfactory academic progress if you:

pass or meet the requirements of at least 50% of enrolled credit points within a study period, and
complete your course within the maximum period of study, if applicable, or by the course end date specified on your COE, and
meet any additional progression requirements specific to your course.

Special consideration

You may be eligible for a modified arrangement, such as:

an assessment deadline extension or examination deferral
re-submission, re-assessment or resitting an examination
adjustment to assessment results or provision of supplementary assessments
a second opportunity to attend a WIL assessment or placement at a different time depending on availability.

To be granted a modified arrangement, you must submit a completed Application for Assessment Special Consideration.

Disputing an assessment grade

If you think an assessment has been marked unfairly or inappropriately you can request to have re-assessed. Your work will be graded again by a different assessor.

What is a Grade Point Average (GPA)?

A Grade Point Average is a numerical calculation, based on the credit points and grade points for Higher Education programs. It is based on the grades achieved over a defined study period or course.

When subjects are completed, each will have one of the grades from the matrix below applied and this must be applied to all students in the subject.

Grades are awarded according to the following criteria and grading scales:

Withdrawn Fail	WF*	The student has withdrawn from the subject after the academic withdrawal date but on or before the withdrawal deadline. The student withdrew from the subject with academic and financial penalties.
Credit Transfer	CT	The student has achieved all of the learning outcomes specified for the subject to the required standard through prior formal learning.
Recognition of Prior Learning	RPL	The student has achieved all of the learning outcomes specified for that subject to the required standard through prior learning that includes informal and/or non-formal learning and may also include formal learning.
Exemption	X	The student has been granted exemption from completing the requirements of the subject under a block credit agreement. Note: exemptions cannot be transferred elsewhere as credit towards a subject.
Elective Exemption	UX	The student has been granted unspecified credit and is therefore exempt from the requirements of an elective subject. Note: exemptions cannot be transferred elsewhere as credit towards a subject.

* A Fail may also be awarded if a student has failed to successfully complete mandatory assessment item(s) or does not successfully pass a hurdle-based assessment, regardless of the cumulative mark.

** Any student who repeats a subject(s) will be invoiced and charged for the subject for each additional attempts.

* Any subject that receives an unsuccessful grade must be repeated and receive a successful grade to meet the course requirements.

The University calculates grade point average (GPA) using the following formula:

GPA = Sum of (credit points x grade point) ÷ total credit points

The University includes all final subject grades or outcomes in the GPA calculation except Withdrawn Not Fail and Withdrawn Deleted. The University assigns the following points against each subject outcome when calculating the GPA:

The University does not include Non-Graded Pass in GPA calculations.
